I promised to share this video sequence of the Moon a while ago. It was not taken with a Meade instrument (it was taken with a Parks Jovian 90mm Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope) but it illustrates the degree to which atmospheric distortion can affect astronomical images. In this case, intermediate magnification was employed by using a 1200mm E.F.L. on the 1/2 CCD video chip. Wiggling of crater images is easily observed with the shutter speeds of 1/100 employed here - leading to the potential of misinterpreting apparent differences in fine details between single snapshots, as well as illustrating why often though things look sharp in the ocular, with longer exposures they come out soft.
