I propose the use of an original proverb which states the following: an edict of humanity is an edict of critical assertiveness. Implications and applications of humanitarianism begin at the individual level and if we are unable to achieve a general appreciation for common sense politics, then we are all doomed to utter destruction. There is a great deal of discourse about political paradigm shifts that can take on social applications, but when the masses of humanity experience immense difficulty defining the essence behind such an idea, it can be soundly assumed that the concept itself will always remain as an odd and lesser known philological abstraction. How do we counter this? The meek population centers of the international community, those who live in states of perpetual poverty, must have access to literacy in addition to concepts that disclose methods of responsible global citizenship. When the masses are able to make intellectually responsible choices, then issues such as overpopulation, pollution, poverty, and consumptionism become clearer, more concise, and sensible to the beholder on the individual level. A world civilization with the absence of intellectual literacy is one that will never be able to escape from the all pervasive threshold of poverty in addition to all of its social implications on humanity; illiteracy being an obvious resultant.
