I published another dozen new items today -- Friday, August 08, 2014 -- and here are some highlights: * As the U.S. intervenes militarily in Iraq, is there an Obama Doctrine? Not really, and thats probably a good thing (on.msnbc/1u77IsT). * Karl Roves attack group has a new ad featuring a new Obamacare victim. Like so many before her, the story doesnt stand up well to scrutiny (on.msnbc/1u5RoZe). If the ACA were so bad, shouldnt it be easier to find legitimate horror stories? * Tea Partiers won exactly zero Senate primaries this year. But the larger arc remains the same: they lost the battles but won the war (on.msnbc/1pgqT05). * Some far-right officials tried to shake up the Tennessee Supreme Court, but failed. Thats good, but the fact that this fight happened at all is evidence of a systemic problem involving politicized judicial races (on.msnbc/V8b0wr). * President Obama forcefully recommitted to net neutrality this week, which is exactly what many of us wanted to hear (on.msnbc/V8aIps). * Congressional Republicans have finally given up and will no longer block funding for ACORN -- a group that no longer exists. Now about all of those other imaginary problems Republican lawmakers keep working on.... (on.msnbc/V8a77b)
