Its important to appreciate all of the many, many ways this doesnt make any sense (on.msnbc/1un2sCh). * A familiar pattern takes shape: on veterans, congressional Republicans talk a good game, but when push comes to shove, theres no follow through, and GOP lawmakers let veterans-aid bills die. Its happening again this week (on.msnbc/1nohpPM). * When Defense Department leaders alert Congress to a national-security threat, Republican lawmakers usually take it seriously -- unless the Pentagon is worried about climate change (on.msnbc/1zcxImu). * Republican strategists and consultants keep advising GOP officials on what to say to -- and about -- women. And after two years of these tutorials, the party is still missing the point: rhetoric matters, but substance matters more (on.msnbc/WPAosw).
