I pulled an Alex Graves and fixed something in the house today. - TopicsExpress

I pulled an Alex Graves and fixed something in the house today. The dryer wasnt drying very well and last week completely stopped drying. So I looked it up and learned about heating elements. Watched a video, ordered the entire part, and waited for delivery. The element is 40 bucks but the entire unit is 60. Much easier install and three new sensors as well. The struggle was the belt. You work blind trying to thread a floppy belt between a motor pulley and tensioner under the drum. Found the broken coil, very common, and five years trouble free is a good run. Go Samsung. Fired it up and literally set off the fire alarm! Smoke came out and my heart sank. Turned it off, got the fire extinguisher, and started googling. Its a common issue with new coils burning off the oil and newly disturbed lint. Whew. After test running for awhile the smell and smoke has gone away. Im still hanging out watching it run though. Not burning my house down no matter how many spiders live here. P.S. I also got a ticket. Finally got caught with my expired license plate. Whoops. It was on the to do list. Since July. Lol. Rebel.
