I pulled into my neighborhood and the road was blocked in all directions including trawick, raleigh pd told me I can not enter my neighborhood. Probably 6 cruisers, two unmarked and a plain white van with full swat get up and k-9s arresting two gentlemen. I asked if I should call my wife and let her know or is it contained, he threatened to arrest me if I didnt drive away and wait until everything was taken care of.... Called wife and she locked down house and turned on all outside lights and pulled up security footage, I pulled across the street and waited. My neighbor was behind me and informed me she was alone with her 3 yr old and worried. I waited with her and when they left she followed me to her house so basically an armed escort of sorts, when I got to house I realized they had cops with k-9s walk in our neighborhood with flash lights and cop cars searching. The cop should have informed me of atleast the situation as if I was not using situational awareness my wife could have had a break in and completely devastated outcome, thankfully if it would have happened the cops would have found the person alot easier. After going thru security footage I can see a little more then the officers even knew and I maybe could have shared where the gentleman cut thru to the apartment complex beside neighborhood, a lesson to those that know me. Always be prepared for the worst in situations, the guy being loose may still affect someone close to me and even still affect my family- he should feel lucky he didnt try my house, could have ended bad for him. Raleigh pd- respect the civilians you are paid to serve and protect, you could have put my wife and child at risk because you would rather yell and dismiss my question about my wifes safety. No wonder my neighbors have my phone number and always know they can call me if needed, you cant always rely on the police when they could be looking out for their best interest and not your familys.
