I rail at parents who ignore the cries of a newborn. For the last hour a newborn child has been crying for food. What do I hear the parent echo in reply? Sh-shuhh. Sh-shush. For an hour! Get the child some milk, for gd sake! As if a baby would cry for an hour without real cause. Its one of the aspects Ive grown to hate about being stuck in this place. Too many newborns. Too many ignorant, selfish parents who are too busy with other things to pay attention to their child. It hurts to think how those babies suffer when they cry from fear and hunger. And they cry voluminously; there is no escaping the sound not even with doors and windows sealed. And I am helpless to help; sometimes the parents never learn what the different cries mean. What would you do?
