I ran 10 miles today without stopping. Thats never happened before. I fueled up at the halfway point as I ran. I felt great miles 1-4, but started to feel stiffness in my quads and hip, and had some major chafing happening under my upper arms. Miles 5-9 were slower than I would have liked, but I took some time off my last mile and finished strong. I learned some important things today. 1. Body Glide is not optional. 2. I need to buy a water vest. Running 10 road miles with no water is not a good idea. 3. My body is capable of far more than my mind seems to think. 4. I ❤️ running. 5. I CAN push though the minor aches and pain, thirst, sweat, and I CAN ignore the voice in my head that says I CANT. My mental toughness has come a long way in this training process. 6. I have a ton of people supporting me and thats made a huge difference to me. I truly appreciate all the kindness that Ive received from everyone, even people I barely know. You dont realize how a few simple words can motivate someone. I want to pay that kindness forward any chance I get.
