I ran into a former client today at Wal-mart. He is now 24 years old and had his 3 year old and approx. 6-9 month old sons with him. Nathan, Will, and Braxton were with me. He spoke introduced me to his family and I introduced him to mine. He ask if I still worked in the schools. I said yes. He said he wanted me to know that when he met me he was ready to quit. Because I believed in him, he graduated high school and went to college. He is now working as a technician earning $24/hour. As bad as I hate the politics, the back stabbing, the inter-agency affairs and the general BS of the people I work with in my agency, kids like this young man are the reason I do what I do.
