I ran my 146th parkrun on Saturday. As I was in Nottingham for the weekend I decided to make a return visit to Rushcliffe parkrun. Last time, nearly two years ago, I ran there from my friends house in Wilford, but Ruddington Lane was blocked due to work on the tram lines (still not finished). Not being a local I had some difficulty finding a way round, so arrived late, having run a mile and a half further than intended to get there. The volunteers kindly sent me off in the right direction, one very kindly taking my bag for me, and I set about catching up. Im not sure how late I started, but I managed to overhaul quite a few, ultimately finishing 34th of 84, with an official time of 24:14. This weekend I drove there, making sure to arrive in plenty of time so that I could start off with everyone else. I had to keep reminding myself to take it steady so as not to wear myself out for the Midland Cross Country Championships that afternoon, but clocked a fairly respectable 21:12, coming 23rd of 315. A perfect warm-up for the afternoons race!
