I ran the Abingdon Marathon in October for Skills for South Sudan, who I work for. Owing to technicalities, weve not been able to raise money through a dedicated page (like Just Giving) either before or since the marathon, but I hope youll still consider supporting me / us? Skills is, like many charities at the moment, facing some challenges looking forward to the future. There is not an organisation like it here in South Sudan: South Sudanese and highly respected by local people, the government of South Sudan (tens of thousands of whom we have trained since the peace agreement was signed in 2005), and the international community. Since its foundation in 1995 the commitment of Skills has been to developing the Human Resources of South Sudan (both in the government and in civil society) that the peace might be something that delivers substantial benefits to the people of South Sudan. Please consider supporting my reckless marathon effort (I ran off the back of 3 runs in the two months preceding, therefore enforcing much more pain than necessary!) and play your part in building the worlds newest nation.
