I rarely de-friend anyone on fb as I enjoy exchanges with people - TopicsExpress

I rarely de-friend anyone on fb as I enjoy exchanges with people who hold differing views. But tonight I had to cut someone loose after they compared food stamps with the National Park Service prohibition against feeding the animals. The poster was a self-described Christian and I just couldnt stomach it. Anyway, fb (and our society in general) has just gotten so negative that it is impacting my mood. I have been guilty (many times) of posting negative items and thoughts and I want to apologize to any of you who were offended. I have been trying to be more positive in my posts, but I have repeatedly fallen short of my own standards. But I am going to keep trying because I think that having a civil discussion about our policies is critical to the success of our nation. My commitment, therefore, is to attempt to avoid negative reactions to posts and policies (even if they are horrid) and instead try to post positive alternatives that I believe can help us become a better people and a better nation. When I fall short, please feel free to give me a gentle reminder of my commitment and I will try to improve in the future. Peace to all.
