I rarely, in fact, I never do this. But this one is kinda fun. I was given a number (9) and had to give that many little known facts about myself. I figured what the heck, if nothing else, itll help the friends that dont know me that well, to learn a little more about me, lol. If you like this, Ill give you a # (or you can pick your own, for that matter. Or not even do it, or whatever. Anyway... 9 things you didnt know about me: 1. Got lost in the Tetons with my mother, when I was 12. She got sick cuz the hike we were on was longer than we thought. While my dad went for help, my mother decided we should keep going cuz my dad probably had a heart attack going back. 2. We came to a foot bridge, where there was a bull moose on the other side about 10 feet away. Mother decided to sing, Moonlight Bay to him to scare him away. He just stared at us and walked away. Couple minutes later, we saw a calf. I tried to talk to him, cuz he was so cute, when his mother decided to show up, behind him. We started running, trying to find a tree to climb. Her footsteps kept getting closer and faster, but when we came to a curve in the trail, she turned around and went back. She probably thought we were too stupid to be a threat. My dad and the rangers found us at 2AM, curled up together buried in the leaves. 3. Raised 3 kids as a single mother for 17 years. 4. Bummed a ride to Boulder, CO when I was a hippie. Got dumped off there cuz the driver got mad at me about something. Walked up and down the boulevard where the freaks hung out. Met a couple who invited me to their house in the canyon to imbibe in an illegal (at the time; its legal now) substance. Went back to my motel and didnt know in the morning how I was gonna get back to Phoenix. Met these two guys who said theyd give me a ride, but Id have to go to Rapid City, SD first to see his grandma. During the night, several inebriated Native American men, started knocking on my door. When I asked who they were, they said, me. I went and hid in the shower (duh). Next morning, found out Id been left behind and ripped off. Directed to a barber named Single Bill. He came and picked me up in the middle of doing a guys hair. He had a Canary Yellow panel truck, with the entire inside covered in stickers, and a parrot on his shoulder. He dropped me off at a park later :where the freaks hung out. Met some guys, imbibed in more of the same substance, they took me back to Denver with them, and since I couldnt get my money back for my bus ticket that Id gotten earlier, they got me a plane ticket back to Phoenix. Way more happened on that trip, that I know were just miracles, cuz God was taking care of me, even before I was a Christian, but this was getting too long. 5. Got stranded (8 mos. pregnant, with a 12 mo. old baby) on Hwy 1 , with a broken fanbelt, on a Sunday. Husband hitchhiked to Big Sur, but stores were closed. Hitchhiked back, still no fan belt, kicked the tires, when it finally occurred to me, Why dont we pray? We hadnt even finished, when these two impossibly handsome guys driving a Triumph, pull over, and ask what the problem was. It just happened that they had a Ford fanbelt, the same year and model as our car. Whatre the odds of that? If they werent angels, they sure were darn goodlooking men, anyway. Why in the world would they have a Triumph, and have just the Ford fanbelt we needed in their trunk. Had to be angels. 6. On the same trip, sitting by a stream with the baby in the playpen next to me, when a pack of wild dogs shows up (maybe they werent wild, but they were a pack and thats good enough for me). With an 8 mo. pregnant stomach, I grabbed the baby, and ran up a nearly vertical bank and hid in the tent. Dont know where the dogs went. Didnt care. 7. Slept in front of my house in a tent with a knife (didnt have a gun), for a couple nights. 8. Been hit by cars twice. 9.Used to chase my customers and pound on their cars if they didnt pay for their gas. So yeah. There it is Naomi.
