I rarely post to my own Facebook page, but I feel that I have to express my opinion on something that really irritates me. Last week, we had a number of very hot days, and a large number of people took advantage of the fine weather to enjoy our beautiful beach at the Port Morien sand bar. I walk the bar on a regular basis, and was shocked to find the amount of trash that was left behind. These pigs left behind almost every type of garbage imaginable – fast food containers, beer boxes, plastic cups, even disposable diapers. There is more hot weather forecast for the next few days. It is obvious that the vast majority of the people who were on the beach last week respected the beach and made sure that they either didn’t litter, or took their garbage home. For you folks, come back again to the beach; we welcome you to enjoy your stay. To the small minority who don’t have the ability to comprehend what pigs they really are, please stay home. Throw your used diapers and styrofoam containers in your own yard or your neighbour’s yard. Even better, throw it around someone’s pool, and see how acceptable that is. At least the crows will like you. By you staying home, we can all get to enjoy a clean and inviting beach.
