I rarely recall dreams .................but last night was horrible , I was at the STABLES THEATRE in freezing weather and it was trying to snow but Jackie Woollaston was selling popcorn outside wrapped up against the weather, whilst Clive Woollaston was in t shirt and shorts putting stamps into an album , apparently impervious to the cold. Despite the stall saying all colours were available only dark green was left,in enormous bags. A girl was in tears because of this. The play was being directed by Andrew John White and there was a large mobile advert with a picture of him but from `Taking steps ` with flashing light bulbs. There was a sign saying the play had no interval and would commence at 9:30 and finish at 2:00 am. Then Matt Davis said I would have to go on as someone had not turned up. Protestations went unheard and I was bundled into a horrible tight costume as a geisha (but the wig had been lost so everyone could see it was not me) I tried to get away but someone jabbed me with a pin and I stayed on . The play started and I had no idea what to say so I started making up dialogue and if there was a pause started again. The cast looked filled with hate as though it was my fault. I tried to make up lines which would get me off to get to the gents but when sitting on the floor with aching limbs , I could not get up. People started leaving , one man fell asleep in the front row and snored loudly, suppressed giggling could be discerned in the gloom. Then all the house lights came on and Chris Lacey came on to announce that the performance was being curtailed and this was due to the severe weather as the snow was 2 feet deep outside and the heating was going off at 1:45 but tickets could be exchanged for a future performance. By now there was only about 10 people left. Also hot green soup was being served and there would be no charge. At this point 5:50 am I woke up tired and laughing with relief?
