I rarely write/discuss politics but that is Not to say that i dont have an interest in the way my society is governed. Infact, it is a serious error for anybody to remain aloof from making a conscientous input into the way and manner he/she is governed. I dont rule out joining politics in the near future Not as a career but as an instrument to drive the change that i seek and wish for everyday! I come across many updates by Nigerians on the forth coming presidentail elections, as passionate as each camp obviously present their candidate, am yet to really see a plan of action on what their candidate plans to do and how he will go about actualizing it! The incumbent is easier to access because he has been on the seat for some years now, the question is;Is his performance credible enough to give him a second tenure?. The answer to this questions varies from person to person. What of the opposition? Is his performance as military head of state credible enough to woo the majority of the voters to his side? The answer too is neither here nor there! If Nigerians should look closely, they will understand that what the polity need most now, is not which of the candidates makes more promises or even executes more projects or even grow the economy! Yes, i said it. So, what does the polity need most? The voters need to tame the politicians, assert dominance and superiority over the political class, make them afraid and subservient to the electrorate! This then means, weilding the collective power of the voters to change those in offices every four years, afterall....this is seemingly no clear cut differences in character, corruption and looting of the nation! Nigerians should vote all incumbent out, Not because those coming in are better but solely to strike panic and subservience into their hearts, by the next four years, they should also be bundled out too! Then, will true and dedicated leaders start to emerge! Only then can we take of ideologies, planning and growth.
