I read a post by one of the pages I follow this morning that was a link to the page owners article about how he lost 10lbs in 10 days. He is not a fitness/nutrition professional so I was curious to read his article...something I normally would have rolled my eyes at and continued to scroll. His big secret? Drinking almost 2 gallons of water a day. No other changes. The majority of people are not adequately hydrated. Most people do not drink nearly enough water. While 2 gallons a day is a bit excessive for most people...I do recommend 1/2-1gallon a day. So heres what happens when youre dehydrated....your body retains water as a method of self-preservation. Our bodies cannot function without water. When we become hydrated our body starts flushing out the retained fluids which results on a loss on the scale. This weight is NOT body fat. It is only water weight. And yes, water weight CAN be that much that quickly (as an female can attest) It may be permanent if you keep yourself hydrated as a habit going forward. But the truth is, you still need to change the other habits (move more, eat healthy) to lose unwanted weight.
