I read an article where JAF (Joint Action Front) referred to OGD led government decision that led to increment in tuition fee as anti-poor, fraudulent and coercive, this I found compelling reacting to. Setting the record straight, I strongly object JAF submission in point no 6, how can the body refer to a position jointly arrived at by all the interested parties as imposition? That was the reality on ground by then hence the parties involved learnt to be realistic. This was a time when the world at large suffered economic recess, a situation whereby Ogun state government under the leadership of OGD couldnt afford to pay salaries and deductions as at when due talkless paying subvention to all the tertiary institutions. This is a period where the government was almost grounded by the Egbetokun led 6th Ogun State legislative session through the infamous house resolution 167 barring all banks and financial institutions from granting loans to the state government. Do people remember an open letter written by OGD to the then state house of assembly over the precarious cash situation with the caption; PRECARIOUS CASH FLOW SITUATION IN OGUN STATE AND THE ATTENDANT DIRE CONSEQUENCES ON OUR PEOPLE? ( asabapost.blogspot.nl/2010/08/open-letter-to-s peaker - of-ogun-state.html?m=1 ). This letter aptly captured The crisis (both political and economic) rocking the state then, since the government was not able to access cheaper financial bailout what do you expect? To short down the government or find a way out of the protracted crisis? So far so good, OGD led administration only did what was necessary to keep the government running, how then can the agreement be referred to coercive and fraudulent? Can we now start asking relevant questions please, 1, what stops Amosun from effecting the change he promised during electioneering period immediately he assumed office? 2, Has Ogun state allocation and IGR improved or not? 3, What were the tuitions fee at the inception of this administration and now? People should stop playing into the gallery!
