I read an editorial by Nate Adams of Illinois Baptist State - TopicsExpress

I read an editorial by Nate Adams of Illinois Baptist State Association in which he wrote about front porches. I remember some front porches in my life. I remember the front porch on my Grandpa and Grandma Wells farm, north of Dewey, Oklahoma. Grandma and I would go to the garden, pick peas, and then sit on the front porch shelling them. My Grandma Turner lived in a rock house in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She had a swing hanging from the ceiling of the front porch which gave many hours of delight. My parents had a home on Maple in Bartlesville which had a front porch when I was a teen. We would sit there for hours. In the summer it was so hot that I even slept on the front porch at night. Now I live in Loves Park, Illinois and we have a front porch with two white rocking chairs. I love sitting there and reading. I love sitting there when it is raining. Memories of front porches! I love them.
