I read of C.H Spurgeon, the Peoples Preacher, how before he would - TopicsExpress

I read of C.H Spurgeon, the Peoples Preacher, how before he would preach, he would be in the boiler room of his church in prayer, and that in some of his services the deacons in his church would have to literally pick him up by his arms, carry him up to the pulpit, and on occasion he would say with tears streaming down his face how HE was unworthy to preach .... And the verse that comes to mind is Isaiah 66:2 the LORD says, But to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth* at My word .... Is there a greater task than to stand before a people and to be Gods spokesman??? I cant think of anything greater, yet we think of this as such a light thing...
