I read of a novel idea which bears review and discussion, so I pass it along: The premise is that a conflict of interest exists for those who accept welfare yet can vote for candidates who would provide more welfare. The solution presumes that accepting welfare is voluntary, and with that choice, the welfare recipient would forego the right of the ballot for the as long as that person accepts welfare. Otherwise, citizenship carries the right to vote. What do you think? This would be controversial, and require an Amendment to the Constitution, but it tends to level the field in the case of those who vote themselves free money from the government.
