I read so much about the unkind and ungracious Singaporeans which in my opinion and experience is rubbish! During the CNY my wife and I went to Marina Bay one evening to watch the laser lights. When it was over we made our way to the only lift in there! I waited in my electric wheelchair in front of the lift door! Suddenly, two Caucasians, a male and a female, aged about 30 years old, pushed their way through to the front of me! The female was the worst! She stood in front of my wheelchair blocking me and egging her male counterpart to move up! They were both with their bicycles! When the lift came up, the female with dirty brown hair, a smelly grey T-shirt and a pair of dirty shorts rushed into the lift with her cycle followed by her male counterpart. I was trying to get into the lift in my wheelchair with my wife behind me! The female had placed her bicycle in such a position that did not enable me to wheel myself in and I told her in English that I had a right to go into the lift when she glared at me and said something offensive in a foreign language to me! The male counterpart had put his bicycle upright with its rear wheel on the floor of the lift! This female Caucasian refused to budge or move her bicycle all the while glaring at me! I moved my wheelchair into the lift and it knocked into her bicycle at which she offensively and rudely said something to me! I angrily told her she should allow me to get in the lift as my wife squeezed herself behind me when the lift door shut behind her. All the while in the lift this rude Caucasian woman glared at me and I told her in no uncertain terms I could get her arrested for riding a bicycle without a helmet. She said something in a foreing language to me. I ignored her. When the lift door opened she pushed forcefully her bicycle against me. I told her to wait until I could get out but she ignored me and forcefully exited herself from the lift followed by her male friend who also forcefully rushed out. In so doing their bicycle hit my face and head. I shouted at them calling them White Trash and telling them to get back to their country! I also said to them in all Singaporeans always allowed me to go into the lift first in my wheelchair! They glared at me and rode away saying something to me! IN my experience all the while getting into lifts in malls in my wheelchair without any exception all the people here always gave me first preferance to get into lifts in my wheelchair! They even held the door opened for me when the door was about to close! Such is my experience with the people here! All are Asians! So are the Westerers such as I had encountered in Marina Bay civilized and kind? When I waited for MRT trains all the passengers held back to allow me to enter the train first! They are Asians! They also made way for me when the train stops and helped me out of the train! They are Asians! So, what is this about Caucasians being so kind and civilized. I had lived in England for many years when I was a student there! I had seen some behaving worst than the poor people here! There was one occasion when I hunted for digs to stay and the English woman slammed her door at my face sayign to me NO Asians. This is civilized behaviour? I only want to put things in their perspective after reading Yahoos comments about Singaporeans ungraciousness!
