I read the outcome of the effort of 120 claimed scholars of Islam and I am very disappointed. Clearly, you are just like those who sat at the White House during the Ramadan iftar to be lectured by the Israeli ambassador. I do not expect more of you. Let me address each of your 24 points: 1. It is forbidden in Islam to issue fatwas without all the necessary learning requirements. Is this a new invention that no one knew. To make a decision one must have knowledge. But the intended kink in your point is necessary learning requirement. Can you us what is that and where it stated in the Quran or hadith. Besides what made you think that the Fatwas issued are not based on deep understanding of the true Islam not the American Islam you believe in. What made you think that you are more qualified? Even then fatwas must follow Islamic legal theory as defined in the Classical texts. What classic texts? Quran and hadith are inadequate for you. Arent Quran and sunnah the source of all Fatwas? It is also forbidden to cite a portion of a verse from the Qur’an—or part of a verse—to derive a ruling without looking at everything that the Qur’an and Hadith teach related to that matter. In other words, there are strict subjective and objective prerequisites for fatwas, and one cannot ‘cherry-pick’ Qur’anic verses for legal arguments without considering the entire Qur’an and Hadith. Your first point is full of accusation that are baseless. This point assumes that the people you are attacking are not qualified to make fatwas even though you did not meet them, talk to them and know very little about them. You also indirectly credit yourselves as scholars and well versed in Islam. You are not. It is people like you whose interest is not Islam but rather your status that are reducing Islam to apologies and self serving institution. 2. It is forbidden in Islam to issue legal rulings about anything without mastery of the Arabic language. I have read the Quran and hadith and I have never seen an edict like this. Besides how do you know that the people you are trying to degrade do not have full mastery of the Arabic language. 3. It is permissible in Islam [for scholars] to differ on any matter, except those fundamentals of religion that all Muslims must know. This is true are as long as it is not in Al- aqidah. Self proclaimed scholars like yourselves are not included. 5. It is forbidden in Islam to ignore the reality of contemporary times when deriving legal rulings What is the definition of contemporary times? Times of who and where? Are make points that have nothing to do with islam? Are you aware that it is forbidden to outlaw what is permissible or permit what is forbidden? 6. It is forbidden in Islam to kill the innocent. Is this a new discovery!!! You really need to be awarded for this useless effort. Islam forbids ANY KILLING except for Haq. 7. It is forbidden in Islam to kill emissaries, ambassadors, and diplomats; hence it is forbidden to kill journalists and aid workers. Islam forbids any killing except for Haq. The West call them journalists or aid workers but you and I have no way to confirm that. 8. Jihad in Islam is defensive war. It is not permissible without the right cause, the right purpose and without the right rules of conduct. That is blatant lie. You made up this you apologist. Allah does not need any one to apologize on His behalf. The prophet pbuh attacked others and the khulafa did the same. Islam is a universal law and will go to war to establish justice. Disbelief is either by your words or by your actions. Are you true Muslims? 10. It is forbidden in Islam to harm or mistreat—in any way—Christians or any ‘People of the Scripture’. It is forbidden in Islam to enact legal punishments (hudud) without following the correct procedures that ensure justice and mercy. It seems you are accusing others of not following correct procedure. Please list the quranic verses or hadiths that dictate and define such procedure. 19. It is forbidden in Islam to attribute evil acts to God. The only evil thing I see is your letter because is self serving, misleading, accusative, and full of malice. 20. It is forbidden in Islam to destroy the graves and shrines of Prophets and Companions. False again. You can destroy any thing that brings affliction in religion or corruption. 21. Armed insurrection is forbidden in Islam for any reason other than clear disbelief by the ruler and not allowing people to pray. False. This is the fatwa of authoritys sheikhs. People are entitle to defend themselves by any means. This right is guaranteed by Islam and Geneva accord. 22. It is forbidden in Islam to declare a caliphate without consensus from all Muslims. Absolutely false. These is nothing in islam that addresses this. Would it be ok if declared president or king? 23. Loyalty to one’s nation is permissible in Islam. True as long as this loyalty does become before your faith. 24. After the death of the Prophet, Islam does not require anyone to emigrate anywhere. No one is requiring anyone to migrate. If your faith needs you, just when you country needs you, it is treason to ignore the calls of your faith or your country.
