I read this and find myself battling extreme mixed emotions. As an American, I cannot adequately express the gratitude I hold for those who are willing to risk their lives on a daily basis (both military and police officers) to protect my liberties and my family. As a result of that gratitude, I feel a responsibility to take and support any action that increase the safety of those heroes. With any similence of respect for authority lost in our generation, the verbal and physical abuse of our police force is at a disturbingly high level and this issue requires attention. But Unfortunately, I am also a realist. "With great power comes great responsibility" and I am terrified that this power will not be accompanied by the necessary responsibility (or should I say accountability?). Is this going to be the next "Catch-all" that empowers the police to apprehend and charge law abiding citizens unnecessarily? I have tagged 2 friends who i respect very much that are on the force because I value their opinion and would like to get their thoughts.. Gentlemen please feel free to untag yourself - Joshua Knisely David Verdier
