I read this article with a lot of interest, however some points I dont agree much and for me its just an utopian vision. The idea of unifying Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania in football could be also be applied in other fields. Let alone the national pride each country has (and I do understand: after 50 years of external rule, you just want to have your own) having one big Baltic League (not like the Baltic Tournament, whose mission failed as this year it was not played) brings some practical problems: 1) the three federations should disappear, there would be one single federation -> issue: one federation, one national team...Estolatvilitu? 2) the UEFA competions places will be assigned to this federation, not to the three founding members -> issue: less Baltic teams in the European cups 3) long away trips -> issue: clubs already facing shortage of finances, some clubs travel the same day and come back to avoid additional costs, if Flora travels to Kaunas, its unthinkable they have to come back the same night... The opinion expressed is respectable and I have also thought about this, but there are many other issues involved: what to do with second tiers club? Unifying also there? Mentioning the costs, that becomes even more awkward. I can only think of all the other tiers left as they are and just being organized in homogeneous football regions (Valga and Valka can play to each other for sure :D ) I dont want to say its not possible, but there are many many things to think through.
