I read this today as I waited to have lunch with my dearest friend. As I listened to the war going on between my ears about what I would order from the menu I felt the kind of utter helplessness, hopelessness and frustration Ive visited all too often. This message came at such a ripe moment. I read these words of wisdom from Geneen Roth. I closed my eyes, took some mindful breaths and moments later realized that the war had settled; the struggle was gone. Momentarily perhaps but it did happen and it felt so freeing. Even one moment of such freedom is worth its weight in gold! I hope others will join me in the practices of ending the inner war with ourselves. Rest assured, this will be a topic in future workshop/support circles in my office with Carol Rosen End Emotional Eating participants.
