I realize that this is a left-leaning website (I dont even care if you read it, it is just an example), however, I just want you to rise above the left-right paradigm and understand a certain concept. The tax-code rewards certain behaviors over other behaviors, because of that it should be thought of a way to manage our behaviors and get us to act a certain way. This is my opponents bill (it is what you get when you send a CPA to DC, can you imagine what youd get if you sent a Constitutionalist to DC?): - motherjones/mojo/2014/07/republican-house-child-tax-credit-bill It has the democrats up in arms...but it is minor behavior management. Why hack at the branches when we could strike the root? When Democrats get power again, theyll probably just reverse it. Id like to take the power out of their hands altogether. We all know the tax code is enormous and untenable. If we got RID of the tax code and thereby getting rid of behavior management via the federal tax code, and returned to taxation by apportionment the federal government wouldnt have the ability to penalize us for not buying health insurance (think about Obamacare and the individual mandate). The IRS wouldnt be necessary, harassment by the IRS wouldnt be possible, 501C3 free speech-limiting in churches wouldnt be possible, a huge bureaucracy gone. April 15th would be just another day. This is a real solution, it is a bold solution, but it can work. It will return power and sovereignty to We the People. The government worked before the income tax, it can work without it again. Taxation by apportionment is based on the census. For example, KS has .9241% of the population, so our tax burden would be just that...less than 1%. Bottom line, if you dont send someone to Congress who is willing to do the dirty work, but only willing to do what has been done time and time again, perpetuating the status quo, youll get the same results. Send me, I have real solutions to add to the discussion. Ill be another Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Justin Amash, Thomas Massie, Walter Jones. Right now the KS 2nd District has another political ladder climbing John Boehner. My two cents on the tax model that KS should use: Id suggest in KS, we switch to the FairTax Model, - a model that doesnt have loopholes - doesnt incentivize certain behaviors over other behaviors, except for saving instead of spending, which is truly how you grow economies by making capital more available, - and keeps money in local economies longer, which will boost the economy. I know this was long, thanks for your time. We didnt get into this mess easily, it wont be easy to get out, however we just have to have the will do it. I do, and after 3 terms, my opponent has shown she is just playing little games, climbing the ladder of political power. #sendLynnHome
