I really am scared and disgusted over how Norway are treating their wild salmon stocks at the moment. 1st - Formerly great sea trout populations in West Norway are being decimated or wiped out by increasing sea lice populations. The only reason for this - salmon farming in fjords. 2nd - The new right winged government increase salmon farming by 5% and allow an increase of poisonous chemicals in the feed they use. 3rd - Legal netting in both rivers and fjords are taking more and more salmon. 800 netsmen take 50% of the salmon. The rest are divided amongst 100000 recreational fishers. 4th - 124 of Norways 400 salmon rivers are closing early (just after a month of an already short salmon season - 3 months) due to catastrophic low catch numbers. 5th - In two of Norways 15 best salmon rivers (Mandalsevla and Otra), unexpected accidents involving hydro electric power plants have resulted in shock water reductions which have then lead to hundred of thousands to millions of salmon young dying. This resulting in a worrying prospect for the next 4-6 years. This is just a summary! Everything in whole is extremely worrying and frightening. My goal is to increase fishing tourism so that fish can be worth more in form of income, generated jobs, business development, etc. I wanted to make people aware of whats really happening in paradise
