I really despise being poor and not being able to give my kids every advantage possible. Nick was nominated and received an invitation in the mail today to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum: Engineering and Technology this summer. Its a program that allows him the opportunity to participate in a case study, workshops and various simulations that are all designed to challenge his abilities and provide him with a broad exposure to various engineering and technology fields. Its an 8-day program (with the offer to extend up to 11 days) that takes place in one of three top ranked Engineering Universities in the nation. Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering in Boston, MA, University of California, Berkeley in CA or Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA. Man! What an experience that would be and to add to ones college application, huh? Anyone have an extra three-grand lying around? (or $4500 for the full 11 days) ;-)
