I really do not like movie critics, so I post this after much - TopicsExpress

I really do not like movie critics, so I post this after much prayer. We went to see the controversial movie, Noah. Unfortunately, it was one of the biggest disappointments of my year thus far. I was really looking forward to the movie. Two of my favourite actors, Russel Crowe and Anthony Hopkins star in it. The budget of the movie is large, really large - $162 million. The acting and all the other usual Hollywood stuff was fine, but unfortunately the story is just so far removed from the real story of Moses (as told in the Bible) that I tend to agree with my friend Gareth Stead who says that in his opinion it is blasphemy. The big worry to me is that this movie puts faith in God, the Creator of heaven and earth on par with myths like Hercules, Spiderman, etc. and I fear that this is but one way that Satan uses to confuse and deceive people even more about who God really is. The movie Noah certainly does not represent the God of the Bible in a truthful way. So, its with great sadness that I do not recommend our support of the movie. The only good thing about watching it was the empty cinema (Only about 20 people in a the largest cinema at Cape Gate). This is even more reason why it is so important that we produce great quality, entertaining movies that represent God in an accurate way.
