I really dont know how I feel about this. The Giver is my absolute favorite book. I have read it 17 times and this is NOT The Giver but something based very loosely on its plot lines. First, I was upset they were even making a movie fearing they would ruin it like they did The Mortal Instruments; the book deserved a much better adaptation than it received. Now I am almost relieved they have chosen to go so far off the original so it doesnt tarnish my experience with the writing. At least the casting is good.
