I really enjoy doing forever anonynous little things here and there that make others life work out a tiny bit better for the moment at hand ...I have this sock hat, you see, i am reluctant to use it when i should cuz i dont wan it to get messed up ...its real wool, unbelievably warming, at least fifty years old and still in perfect condition (sans the the little decorative ball that once rode atop it) ...it was so cold at work the last two weeks i finally dug it out to don in public last week ...i wore it as a child growing up in St Louis out sledding n playing in the snow and it was probably a hand me down then to boot ...the Covingtons lived directly across the street from us (it seemed they had more kids than the Bumpasss had dogs) and their extensive backyard was excellent for sledding ...the house was set into/on a hill that started from the carport, leading to a plateau that overlooked a series of three descending mini-mesas followed by a nice long slope ...i guess i was about 8 or 10 and the youngest Covington girl was about 6 ...she lit out down the hill on her sled just ahead of me and as we were entering the final bottom sweep she was all freaked out of control paralyzed into inaction headed straight for a big ol oak tree trunk ...i reached out ahead grabbing the rear loop to her left rail and yanked her sideways in a safe direction ...that family was kinda messed up ...Jim the oldest got in some kind of serious legal trouble heading into of age (prolly stole a car) and sorta dodged time in jail by opting to enlist in the Navy, Linda was the boy craziest girl i ever met, always sadies hawkins after me, and if we hadnt moved to dallas in 70 at age twelve i am sure i would have lost my virginity to her at much too young an age (a couple years after we moved to tx we heard that Linda was a teen preggo and the Covingtons had made a job related move to New Jersey ...i was just starting to hang out more with Wayne than the other kids in the neighborhood and flirting with trouble when we moved ...if we had stayed in St Loo, no doubt my life would have taken a different path https://youtube/watch?v=5BnArBr2ZKU
