I really enjoyed the new JMR course today. Some because we passed through so much restoration and renewal in a previously flattened and ravaged community. Some because so many of my friends seek wellness, unity, and change with such passion. Maybe a little selfishly, we ran by my old house at 26th and Adele. That lot is empty and dead grass is its best identification, but incredible things happened there. I met Jesus there, I got sober there, I discovered contentment there, I survived the storm of the century there with Olivia Rogers, I lost everything I owned there, I found what was most important on my last day there, and I saw that group of runners in the summer of 2009 there; the ones that spurred me to ask God for the same gift. To run free, no fear, no need for anything but truth, and certainly no need for anymore substances. This day will hang with me for awhile and remind me how blessed I am. Cant wait to take a jog by there again soon.
