I really fussed about whether or not I would post this story. After allot of thought I decided it was important to share. I had a client come to me from another lash tech. The client was coming to me because her lashes wouldnt stay on longer than a week and she was told by her lash tech that her extensions were not staying on because it was her fault. This client really really wanted to wear lash extensions but was feeling that this was not an option for her because her tech minimized her concerns and charged her each time to replace the lashes that wouldnt stay on. She asked her tech what kind of adhesive she was using and was told that it was a high quality one. When she asked what brand it was the tech said again it is a high quality one. The client had done some research and asked her tech if sealant would help. The tech reponded with: my clients dont need sealant because I do them properly from the beginning. ........ WHAT???? her lashes were falling off in a week!!!!! Am I knocking the lash tech. NO..absolutely not. I encouraged the client to talk to her technician about her concerns. The client decided to move to another lash tech because the experience was frustrating, becoming very expensive and it was upsetting. I believe each and every client has the RIGHT TO KNOW what products/brands are being put on her lashes. A trained and reputable lash tech will always work with the client to eliminate any concerns or problems they may have. If your lash tech is not listening to you or with holding information about the product she uses.....the client often times feels like she has no choice but to move on and that is so sad. My heart would be broken if a client left me for those reasons. As for sealant.....I want to set the record straight. I recommend it to each and every client. Why? Because sealant will PROTECT your eyelash extensions from things like sweat, dirt and other elements that may break down the eyelash extension adhesive. So how did the story end? My beautiful new client had her lashes redone by me. She knows what products are being used on her and she uses sealant. Guess what?.....she has no problems, loves her lashes and has referred several friends who are just as lovely as she is!!! Chere Gaterie Nail Spa & Esthetique Studio
