I really gave up on debunking these anti-Muslim arguments. But Sam Harris and Bill Maher are just so ignorant. So I had to. The problem with Mr Maher and Mr Harris, is that theyre not as sophisticated and enlightened about religion as they think they are. Check this: 1) Genital Mutilation: Actually, Mr Maher, this is a Central African problem, in countries that are predominately Christian, including the countries you named. ex: Ethiopia. 2) Women are Oppressed: Islamic countries have elected 7 heads of state that are female in those Muslim majority countries. America to this day: 0. There are more females on the the Pakistani Cabinet, than in the Canadian cabinet. 3) In the months weve been fed propaganda about ISIS, Saudi Arabia, one of our biggest ally has beheaded 19 people. But no one seems to care about that. 4)Accusing 1.5 billion people of bigotry based on Saudi Arabia and Iran: Using 1 or 2 examples to justify uneducated generalizations like you do, is actually the dictionary definition of bigotry. 5)Killed for Wanting to leave the religion: I have personally circulated a letter at Calgarys largest mosque, questioning the collection of alms, and no one has tried to kill me. The actions of individual countries like Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan must be condemned and do not belong in the 21st century. Stop saying things like the Muslim World, as if countries like Turkey, Morocco, Indonesia, India, Malaysia and Russia are the same as Saudi Arabia and Iran. This notion that somehow something that is happening in the most extreme and oppressive of these countries is happening in all of them is, frankly, and simply, stupid. Stop accepting talking points and soundbites as truth. Learn to differentiate between Nations and Culture.
