I really hate suspected, but not yet confirmed, hardware issues. My laptop is running memtest all night; if it glitches, Ill have an explanation for why Audacity has started crashing and (apparently) not actually saving my work. The file I submitted to Librivox was missing my edits on the last 10 minutes, which I know I saved. Or tried to. A spontaneous core dump last night woke me to the idea it might have a bad memory chip. But I dont know yet. And if memtest passes, Ill still be in the dark.
