I really hate to do this! BUT, I think an injustice has been committed an I feel I must do what I can to save others from getting taken advantage of. My Step son and his girl friend had recently been looking for an apartment in Keene. Cassie is just 18 and I know that makes her of legal age but, certainly not wise to the ways of the world. She went to look at one of Dorrie Omearas (Keene Apartments) places. Dorries agent Convinced/lead Cassie to leave a hold on the apartment because many people were looking at it. This hold was $1000. Cassie was not shown the lease at this time. When Cassie actually got to see the lease, it said that Dorrie could raise the rent any time she wanted and the the tenant would be responsible for any pluming repairs. Along with some other smaller issues. i advised Cassie NOT to sign that lease! When Cassie contacted Dorrie Lynn OMeara She told Cassie she would not return any of the $1000 deposit. I messaged Dorrie on behalf of Cassie and asked her to be reasonable and take a couple hundred for her trouble and please be fair and return the rest of the deposit. I thought this was a reasonable request and could be done with no hard feelings. I guess Dorrie does not care about her reputation as a local business owner! Taking advantage of a young couple and basically stealing their money is just way beyond what I would expect. I believe she even talks of God.....? Really! It that what a spiritual person would do? Anyway...In summary, I know a lot of my face book friends with children about to become renters. This information is for you to pass on to them or anyone you know who may be in the market for an apartment. STAY AWAY FROM Dorrie AND KEENE APARTMENTS. Maybe, just maybe if her business suffers a little she would consider changing her business practices!
