I really like this article my roommate showed me. Regardless of our particular political views, we have a President that was fairly and duly elected. Are we going to do anything we can to tear him down and to cripple what he can accomplish as President? Isnt that shooting ourselves in the foot? Shouldnt we instead show support and respect to our elected leader, and work to build out nation with him, even it the outcome is only 50% of what we want? Its much better than everyone getting 0% of what they want because of a political standoff. I agree with the author of this article that working to undermine the legitimate president is borderline treasonous, and will only damage America. We need to stand together to face the problems of todays world, whatever our political ideology or party. This was written by a Canadian a few years ago, I believe. I agree much more with the first half of the article than the second, but its very interesting to read.
