I really like this meditation, so I am posting it for us tonight. You know I had no idea that when we are going through prolonged stress, we are producing a greater amount of Adrenaline, Cortisol and Norepinephrine. These chemicals will create the perfect storm in our body to give us a heart attack. So, your blood pressure may be normal but if you are experiencing long term stress you are susceptible to a potential heart attack. I am aware that I must allow myself to rest when I am feeling tired. One of the problems with addicted thinking is that we do not know when to say when. I do not want to become part of the problem when I am dealing with a stressful situation. I now know that I have limitations when it comes to what I can do in one day. I give myself permission to take five minutes when I need it. I ask for help! It is o.k. to ask for help. I reduce the level of stress that is around me. I make my home comfortable. I exercise. I meditate. I share my feelings. All of these techniques were taught to me years back when I was studying Psychology. But I never applied them to my life. I drank to reduces my feelings of stress.
