I really think that well-meaning Christians who 1) have never lost - TopicsExpress

I really think that well-meaning Christians who 1) have never lost someone to suicide and/or 2) have never experienced mental illness personally or know someone who has, should shut their mouths because youre making Christians look judgmental & extremely naive. Mental illness IS a real illness & you have NO right to tell a sick person that they should CHOOSE joy over depression, that its a sin to overcome, etc. I am appalled & disgusted by some of the things Ive read. It is very easy to throw stones while living in your glass houses. If you honestly believe that someone would choose clinical depression over joy, then perhaps you should have your brain checked for common sense & your heart for empathy. Unbelievable! People like you are the reason why so many people who need psychiatric help do not seek it. And this status comes directly from us both.:)
