I really want to get into soccer. I really do. I enjoy the tactics and endurance and the nail biting suspense and last minute goals. But how to people stand/justify the blatant cheating/acting and poor refereeing? That player from grease just cost Ivory coast the game and the chance to move on to knockouts by just blatantly cheating? Why doesnt that player now get suspended for the rest of the tournament? if he picked up the ball and threw it in the goal with his hands it would be a penalty, so why is he aloud to to pretend to fall over in his box to get a free shot of goal in extra time? why isnt there an off field video ref that can correct such crucial/game altering decisions? How do people who follow soccer deal with this? every game ends with me pretty much screaming at the TV in disgust cause players are aloud/almost expected to cheat!!
