I recall a conversation between Ray Hunt and a fellow horseman - TopicsExpress

I recall a conversation between Ray Hunt and a fellow horseman about the qualities of a great horse. The man explained to Ray how important bloodlines were, specific confirmation qualities, etc. Finally he asked Ray, what he seeks out in a good horse. Rays answer was all about a good mind, confirmation and bloodlines were distant on his list. This is how I feel with the horse I drew. In an auction, I may have looked right past him due to his size, but his mind and attitude kick butt! Today we made incredible progress on our journey. He is now decent on the lead rope, easily turns on the haunches, lets me touch him everywhere (except the belly), and much more. I tried to get a selfie with him (dont usually do that myself). In one picture, you can see a tiny white cross on his nose (so he is a horse of faith). After a few hours, I crouched down as my legs were getting tired. He took this as a queue to lay down and roll. No scared horse would dare do this. Cant wait for more days like today!
