I received a beautiful song from a beautiful friend today. Its unexpected arrival couldnt have been more timely, as I was just on my way into the studio to dance and the message resonated with my souls predicament. You call me out upon the waters, the great unknown, where feet may fail. All day Ive been immersed in the discomfort of limbo, recognizing the direction in which I am being pointed but fearing to proceed, for I feel inadequate to succeed. Now I cannot contentedly tary where Ive been either, for Ive clearly been shown the exit and prodded to go. This heartfelt song thus moved me in prayer across a conduit to the reservoir of my faith. Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders. There I was reminded that I need not rely upon my strength alone. Let me walk upon the waters wherever You would call me. Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander. With every call comes also the empowerment to fulfill it. The invitation isnt to come over here where Ill watch you drown, its to come over here where Ill keep you safe and enable you to do something spectacular! So I will call upon Your name and keep my eyes above the waves. Adrift though I still may be, the impressions touched as I danced continue to flow through me, offering reassurance that Ill be carried without harm into the realm of mystery that awaits.
