I received a call from a customized number. I do not know if you have received a similar call. I couldnt understand the words but I knew they were Hausa words. A friend who understands Hausa and has received the call on his phone explained the message to me. The message says: whatever is not sanctioned by the Koran is haram. This is the indoctrination that has gone on in the mosques for years now. These messages have been circulated via pamphlets. The GSM has provided them another vehicle to propagate hate. Am surprised the telecom service providers allowed such messages. And the NCC allowed it too. This is how the seed of hate is cultivated. Today we have young Christians and Muslims who have been programmed to hate others of opposing beliefs and ideas. And the government has not deemed it necessary to censor the activities of religious zealots. This is why Boko Haram insurgency may never end. Even when you kill all the fighters, their ideologies have been embedded into the peoples psyche. We have seen how a family has violated its own. This is what intolerance borne out of indoctrination produces. #freemubarakBalanow!#
