I received a call tonight from my friend Tiffany - there were two dogs running loose on her street and she wasnt able to catch them, and she was obviously very concerned about them. Jim and I headed out to search, and our search was successful! I think they were very happy to be found, because they seemed exhausted, and willingly got into our truck without much coaxing. One had a collar but no tag, and the other didnt have a collar. I scanned them for microchips, and whaddaya know, folks ... THEY BOTH HAD CHIPS! I called the microchip company, and within minutes I was conferenced in on the phone with their parents who had been out searching for them. THANKS TO THE MICROCHIPS, Jewel and Chewy were reunited with their family! They had run quite a long distance from home, so their parents were searching in an entirely different area. If you havent already done so, please microchip your animals!!! If nothing else, it makes my life so much easier. Well, cleaning up the vomit in the back seat wasnt so fun ... but it was so worth it!!! Thank you Tiffany! If you hadnt called, these dogs most likely would have been out all night, and with all of our coyote activity over the last few nights, who knows what might have happened to them. You are their hero.
