I received a heartbreaking call from my sister in the US concerning my dad. Doctors and nurses from the hospice went to them to check on my dads condition and was told that hes already half-dead. Some of his internal organs are no longer functioning and that the morphine shots kept him breathing. We were told to get ready coz hell expire anytime soon. As my sister and I chat, she focused the cam on my dads face and placed the earphone so I could say things to him even if he no longer responds to whatever I have to say. It was an emotional moment for me as I told him that even if hes miles apart from me, I always care and include him in my prayers. I told him that I shall forever be grateful to him for treating me and my sister as his biological daughters and loving my mom unconditionally. For spoiling us and being so kind to me and our relatives here in the Phils. I will never forget the letter you gave me years back. It has taught me a wonderful lesson. You will always be remembered for your cool personality, generosity, being loving and selfless. I may not be able to be by your side as you breathe your last breath, but rest assured, the memories you had with us will always be treasured and will leave an indelible mark on our hearts. A good soldier never dies. Thank you so much for everything, dad. Continue to watch over us. You shall forever be missed. I love you!!!
