I received a message from a lady named Miranda. An apostate amid a devoutly religious family, and experiencing a personal valley as her usual avenues of familial support are only met with pity and prayers, she asked me where I draw my strength. One one front, I try to find it within myself. But I also draw an immense amount of strength, encouragement, courage and support from this online community. For my part, I want to encourage her that family comes in many forms. I think true family acts like family. They hold you up in moments of crisis. They listen. They provide (productive and helpful) counsel. They keep you honest. They sharpen you and push you to be better tomorrow than you are today. They demonstrate love beyond mere lip service. They laugh with you. They cry with you. And even in the moments of great disagreement, they will not abandon you. Perhaps youll leave a quick note of support for Miranda (and those with similar situations) in the comments section here. Seth
