I had seen it done before, but he MOTIVATED me to finally modify my pair. A $2 eye bolt from tractor Supply converted these from plain old vice grips, to a forcible entry assistance tool. The addition of the eye bolt allows the pliers to be adjusted easily with a gloved hand. Also, the oversized eye can really help to crank it down, more torque! The most common use of this mod is to allow the connection of a rope or webbing to assist in the cutting of the hasp on padlocks with a Partner saw.
