I received a surprise gift from a dear friend Marian Catedral-King yesterday -in honor of October being breast cancer month - everything pink! - pink kitchen towels and pink make-up brushes! My dear Marian, thank you for continuously taking care of me! Long ago in 1987 when the Senate opened after Martial Law, Marian and I sat side by side behind the Senators, she was the Legislative Aide of Senator Rene Saguisag, while I was the PRO of Senator John Osmena. When she became the PRO of Camp John Hay, she has helped in all of my presscons at the 19th Tee or elsewhere around Baguio for my Senator Bosses - Biazon, Drilon...loved as she is by the Baguio media...she visited me in the hospital during cancer bringing my fav chicken dish which we shared with my anesthesiologist Dr. Billy Ong...when the management of Caltex flew her to Chevrons Mother Office in San Ramon, California USA, Marian toured and drove me not only all over San Francisco but also to see Monterey, Carmel, Gilroy, Pleasanton....Marian may be far away, but through her recent surprise gift, she manifested her forever loving friendship. Yes, God allowed cancer, but he also showered me with too much blessings like Marian.
