I received an email this week from a woman whose father-in-law is another victim of the late Judge Joel Asarch. She said her story was too long to send in an e-mail and wanted to speak on the phone. When I did speak with her she told me a very sad story that spanned many years. I cannot say that I was surprised to hear of the illegalities and financial abuses that took place under the "watchful eyes" of the Nassau County Supreme Court and Judge Asarch...after all, I witnessed it happening to my own mother.......but to allow the physical abuse of this man and his property while he and his court appointed guardian stood by and did nothing is heart wrenching. And of course, many of the same players were involved. She told me she plans to expose the entire motley crew of these "legal professionals" in her desperate attempt to help a very sick family member. How many more victims of Judge Asarch are yet to come forward? From what I heard from those in the legal community many lives were destroyed in his courtroom. Will the judges that took his place put an end to this nightmare? Will the New York State Judicial Commission ever hold any judge accountable for these horrific criminal acts committed against the elderly? What will it take?
